Hiii!

My name is Crystal and I’m an actress in my final semester at the New York Film Academy, preparing to shoot and star in my first self-written short film, MORON.

MORON is an absurdist comedy that dives into one of the most uncomfortable realities of our time: how political identities can fracture families, turning ordinary gatherings into chaos. Through strange humor, surreal moments, and escalating chaos, the film asks a simple but urgent question. Can honesty and love survive when beliefs collide? This film is full of second-hand embarrassment, sensitive topics, and explosive arguments so prepare yourselves!

MORON exposes how easily ideology can replace empathy and how ridiculous, heartbreaking that can be.

This film marks my first time bringing a project of this scale to life, and I want it to be weird, funny, and visually bold. My goal is to share MORON beyond the classroom through festival screenings and audiences who will walk away with a good laugh.
