Morocco emergency earthquake relief fund

Dear beloved travelers, friends and family of majestic disorder, Riad Jardin Secret and El Camino Travel,

As many of you know, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Morocco late on Friday, 8th September. It left a trail of devastation in its wake, with the rural villages in the Atlas Mountains being hit the hardest and suffering the worst impact of the quake. More than 2,000 people have been tragically killed, with many more still missing.

We are absolutely devastated by this horrific tragedy and our thoughts continue to be with the victims, all our local teams and everyone effected.

Many of the houses in these remote villages are now completely uninhabitable, having collapsed or suffering significant damage. With people forced out of their homes, there is little shade to get relief from the heat. Families have lost everything. People are without water, electricity, wifi and cell phone reception.

Yesterday essentials such as bread, fruit, canned goods, baby diapers, hygienic products, floor mats and more were purchased by our dear friends Cyrielle and Julien, the owners of Riad Jardin Secret. They directly dispatched food, water and these necessities to the hardest-hit communities in these rural mountain areas.

We need your help to continue these direct on the ground efforts and to support local partners. With your donations, we will be able to purchase essential items and provide much needed aid around the clock to the communities that have sustained such immense loss and devastation.
