Morocco earthquake; help Yacine Elbaraka rebuild

We are Jan and Kevin. We did a G Adventures tour of Morocco in November, 2021, with Yacine Elbaraka as our guide. He was such a gentle and helping person who we all came to love, and continue to stay friends.

Yacine's village, Mawlay Ibrahim in the Al-houz region, was close to the epicenter of the September 8 earthquake, and was largely destroyed. Yacine and his immediate family (multiple generations) lost their home, and they lost a member of the extended family as well as numerous friends and neighbors. He and his family have moved in with relatives in Marrakesh while they discern their next steps.

We who have known him want to help him and his family recover however they can, first of all to cover daily living and, perhaps, to help him rebuild the family home. We are seeking donations that we will pool and send to him; he has provided us with his bank information to make this possible.
