Spende geschützt
"The play touches people’s hearts and souls, and indeed on many occasions, has us laughing and crying at the same time."
-Sir Trevor Nunn, Director.

In 1836 a penniless, 23-year-old newspaper journalist gave his notice to the Morning Chronicle in London to take a position at the Inns of Court as a clerk. Five days later, the journalist had not shown up for the job. What happened in those five days changed the course of literature.
His name - Charles Dickens.
Sir Trevor Nunn has teamed with writer Janet Dulin Jones and associate producer Brian Cox to bring to life a story that he has always wanted to take onstage. Sir Trevor Nunn is one of the most prolific British theatre directors of our time. Known for directing the original production of Cats the Musical in 1981, and for writing the lyrics for the song ‘Memories’ which reached No 6. in the UK Charts. Cats ran in the West End for 21 years and was the longest-running musical in the West End, eclipsed only by another of Nunn’s productions; Les Miserables. Garnering over £500 million from 1985-2019 and picking up 3 Olivier Awards in the process, Les Miserables is the one of the most successful shows on the West End.

On April 10th, 2025, we were thrilled to present a table reading of my new work to colleagues and friends at The Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. After a day of rehearsal, our truly excellent and inspired company turned in wonderful and nuanced performances, with beautiful music led by our brilliant Music Director, Steve Edis. Therefore, our team have now set our sights on a new goal; a six-week off-West-End run! We can not wait to introduce the young, brilliant and penniless reporter, Charles Dickens, to the world.
Our company is 16 Equity actors; 8 men and 8 women, which necessitates our needing donations for the production, plus space and staff –£12,000.00
Thank you very much!
