Morne's cochlear implant and hearing journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Anne-Marie and I'm fundraising for my brother Morne.
Morne unexpectedly lost 96% of his hearing when he was just 2.5 years old, and has relied on hearing aids ever since. Sadly, recent audiology tests have shown that his hearing has declined even further.
Morne has profound hearing loss, and the cochlear implant is a life-changing opportunity that would allow him to hear and experience sound in new and different ways.
The surgery itself is covered by his private medical fund, but unfortunately, the additional expenses—such as a compatible hearing aid, rehabilitation, speech therapy, ongoing audiology appointments, and support—are not.
I'm determined to make this journey a little easier for Morne by easing the financial burden, so he can focus fully on his recovery and the road ahead.
I would be so thankful for any donation, big or small, to help my brother in his hearing journey. Even just sharing this with others would mean the world to me.
Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated!
