Morgon-Audrey's Bottom Surgery Fund

Hi everyone,

I’m Audrey/Morgon (she/her), a 29 year old Taiwanese-American trans woman, and I’m getting gender-affirming bottom surgery this year in July. I’m asking for $10,000 (after fees) to help pay for this amazing but difficult process. I’m going to Thailand to see Dr. Chettawut, who is one of the few surgeons in the world that can give me the gender-affirming care that meets my needs. I’m incredibly lucky to have found him. The entire procedure, including travel, recovery time, and my caretaker, will cost at least $25,000. I have spent my adult life developing a survivable and happy relationship with my body, and now I need your help to take my biggest step yet!

Dr. Chettawut uses a non-penile inversion with skin graft technique, which is the only affordable surgery that can give me a functioning vagina. Anything you donate will bring me one step closer to gender euphoria. This is so big, so scary, and so exciting for me; I have wanted this for years. You can help me with any amount of money, by sharing this with your community, or by coming to my burlesque shows, before and after I leave for surgery on July 1st.

You may know me by my stage name, Morgon Sedusa, director of the all queer troupe Quiver & Tempt Society. QTS’s shows are my current source of income and happiness. I lost both my jobs and my burlesque community when the pandemic hit, and I’ve spent the past two years rebuilding the scene of my dreams. On January 2nd of 2022, we delivered our debut show, “Surprise! It’s A Genderqueer Reveal Party.” My performance in the show was a vulnerable act about my dysphoria and being in the wrong body. Acknowledging the weight of my dysphoria helped me realize how happy and light I could feel without it.

Burlesque empowers me to ask big what-if questions that I feel unable to ask in my everyday life. What if I could change my body into something that felt euphoric? My burlesque persona, based on Medusa as a trans woman, is the superhero of my dreams. She is a radical act of self recreation. I dreamed her up to have the same struggles as I do: a body that gets called monster, a womanhood that is deemed wrong and ugly, a sacredness that gets twisted into a curse… but I also dreamed that, unlike me, she could overcome those struggles. Performance after performance, Morgon has taken the steps to reclaim her sacredness in spite of being in the wrong body. She’s my twin spirit that exceeded my own dreams, and now I’m ready to do it too.

Thank you for being a part of my journey.
