Dental School Needs

My first experience with dentistry was with my mother, when she was 19 years old and she first got her braces. She elected me for the job of choosing the colors of her rubber bands. Of course, at that time I hadn’t yet realized my passion for dentistry.
There are countless reasons why I love the dental profession, but at the root, what it comes down to for me is my passion for people. I feel that dentistry is unique in that it allows you to help people from both a physical and emotional health standpoint. To be able to improve someone’s quality of life and empower them to share their smile with others is invaluable.
As a first-generation college student, having completed my master’s degree with a 4.0 GPA, and to have been accepted into dental school, is a major achievement. Having been working towards this for so long, to have gotten to this point I feel immensely blessed and thankful.
Finally this dream has become a reality for me, however, the other reality is that having paid for all of the application and interview expenses myself, financially this deposit seems impossible. This money would not only go towards my $3,000 enrollment deposit due January 5th, securing my seat for the dental class of 2021, but the numerous other expenses that come with enrolling in health professional school (criminal background check, transcripts, etc.).
I truly mean it when I say anything helps, but regardless thank you for taking the time to read this and learn a little bit about me : )
