My name is Morgan Chandler Bouldes. I am a 24 year old Artist from Detroit and recent graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art and alumna of Wayne State University. God has blessed me with a new position in my field and I am grateful to have accepted a teaching position at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design after receiving the AICAD Post Graduate Teaching Fellowship. This position will require me to relocate from my current state of Michigan and move to Wisconsin this July as I am starting my role at MIAD in mid August.
While this opportunity will set me up for success financially in the future, at this time as a recent graduate I am unable to afford the cost of relocating to another state and am reaching out to my community for a helping hand to get me on my feet.
I have not had an automobile in almost 4 years and have depended on friends/family and ride-hailing to get around. Being on my own in a new state with no family or friends at reach, I will not have access to the same mobile support. With this said I am hoping to be able to purchase a car before I move.
Back in the summer of 2020 during quarantine I was forced to abruptly move out of my apartment at the Grand Lofts when the building got a bedbug infestation. Along with the sudden move, I lost most of my furniture that I inherited from my late mother. This included my entire bedroom set as well as my couch and mattress. I will need to replace these things as well.
I am asking for your support to help me raise $9,500 for a used vehicle, operations and moving expenses, to replace lost furniture and to cover the security deposit for new place.
