Morgan Huggard’s Medical Expenses

Hi friends! Morgan Huggard here. As you may know, I have had some serious medical problems pop up. I am saving to get spinal cord surgery by a specialist in Bend, Oregon. This surgery will greatly improve my pain and cognition. I am also by saving for a trip to Maryland to see a group of doctors and physical therapists who treat my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome my co-morbid conditions. I want to give you an update. I have been diagnosed with hypermoble Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. This causes my joints to frequently dislocate. In addition, this has caused me a few other conditions and symptoms that I explain further down. POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) causes me to experience symptoms similar to head rush when I am standing or sitting upright. I also faint from this condition. MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) This condition makes me develop allergies to things I am in contact with most. For example, if I use the same hypoallergenic, unscented shampoo for too many weeks in a row, I will become allergic to it. My mast cells also attack connective tissues, causing more pain and dislocations. Gastroparesis- This translates to a partially paralyzed stomach. My stomach digests way too slow. This makes me very nauseous when I eat and I have difficulty keeping food down. ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyalitis, aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) -this gives me chronic fatigue, and a symptom called post exertional malaise that gives me flu-like symptoms if I overexert myself. Tethered Cord Syndrome- This is what I need surgery for, the end of my spinal cord is connected to a bit of tissue near my sacrum. When I bend my body forward, it pulls on my spinal cord causing neurological symptoms, pain, poor cognition, and brain fog Lastly, Reactive Hypoglycaemia- this just means that my blood sugar drops really low after I eat, but also when I don’t eat enough.
