Morgan Carey & Family Cancer Support

When I think about Morgan and Danielle, the first word that comes to mind is soulmates. Unfortunately, the story I’m about to tell is much harder and more heartbreaking.
On November 4, Morgan and Danielle read words on a medical portal that began a nightmare. After 13 weeks which included three different biopsies, multiple laminectomies and a surgery that required rods and screws in his spine, they finally received an official diagnosis. Morgan has Large B Cell Lymphoma. To fight this disease, he is prescribed six rounds of chemotherapy in Steamboat Springs with four rounds of infusion in between in Denver. The first round is scheduled for February 22.
Currently, Morgan is on short-term disability, but that ends soon and he will be unable to work. Danielle has taken significant time off from her job and must continue to do so to provide care during his fight and take care of their two beautiful children (13 and 11). Unfortunately, this time is unpaid and will continue to be. This has taken a toll on them in all the ways you can imagine. Of course, one of them is the financial toll. This money will be used to:
Pay the mortgage and monthly bills
Pay medical bills and prescriptions not fully covered by insurance
Gas to get to and from Denver
Most importantly, allow them to focus on this fight and not how they are going to keep their heads above water.
Danielle is one of the most private people I know and despises asking for help. (And yes, despise is the correct word choice). Given she is allowing me to do this, you know it is a desperate time. She is overwhelmed with gratitude by the meal train and continues to say she does not know how to thank people. We just keep telling her that she can pay it forward when Morgan is healthy. In the meantime, we are saying thank you. Thank you for your love, support, strength, and prayers and for considering a donation. We are appreciative of everything done in support of our/their family.
