In the middle of November, families are planning for Thanksgiving, some are buying Christmas gifts and others are eager to be with their extended family over the holiday season. What are your hopes for this Christmas?
My name is Grace Cosby. I live in Tijuana, Mexico with my husband, John and our four children. My prayer for this Christmas involves this family, the Morenos. I would like to introduce you to our friends, the Moreno family:
L-R: Elsie 10, Ariana Judith Hernández Morales, Itzayana 1, Anairy 4, Fidel Moreno Bravo
Fidel and Ariana are a hardworking couple. Fidel works as an auto-body mechanic, and Ariana homeschools the girls and works as a hairdresser occaisonally. She is a busy mama!
Fidel and Ariana been taking care of a home in Rosarito for the past several years, but now they have to move out, as the owner is returning. The owner has given them until the end of November to move out.
They have a piece of land but lack the resources to build a home.
My husband and I know of a double-wide trailer for sale, not too far from our own house! Sure, it is old and needs some work, but the Ariana and Fidel are delighted.
Above is the trailer for purchase. It needs some re-conditioning to make it safe and livable.
The $4,000 will cover the cost of the trailer ($1,000), the cost to move the trailer ($2,000) and the cost to make the trailer safe to live in ($1,000).
The Moreno family need your prayers and your financial assistance to put a roof over their heads. They lack the resources to do this alone, but not the faith!
Why is this urgent?
The end of November is just about 15 days away, a small window to purchase, move and recondition the trailer-but it's possible!
The end of November also marks the change in seasons here. Instead of snow, we have rain (and some years, alot of rain). There is an abundance of mud, and for those without a weather-proof home, it's cold and wet.
We want the Moreno family to be home for Christmas: a home that is safe for their three girls, a home that keeps out the cold and lets warm memories happen, a home where the love of learning can flourish, and a home for family prayers.
Thank you for reading their story. We all are so grateful for your prayers and any asssitance you can lend to the Moreno family!
