In the last few weeks, the impoverished nation of Haiti has experienced two devastating natural disasters that have shaken the country at its core.
On Saturday, August 14, 2021, a massive earthquake (registering at 7.2 on the Richter scale) gravely impacted Haiti’s southern coast. Two days later, Tropical Storm Grace quickly swept through the fragile country, adding immense chaos to an already dire situation.
As news outlets continue to broadcast images of destruction and widespread homelessness, I am compelled to support the men, women and children of my homeland who so desperately need a resurgence against inherent violence, political unrest and now a global warming upheaval. Will you join me?
