Morecambe Bay Urology Patient still suffering
Donation protected
My name is Sue Allison, I’m an NHS whistleblower who has spent the last 10 years trying to improve patient safety and standards of treatment at my local trust Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
I’m currently trying to help a number of patients, relatives, staff members and dismissed staff who have been treated very badly by the trust.
This appeal is for funds to help David a urology patient who was subject to extremely poor care following post operative complications. The lack of care shown to him was of the same nature as that outlined in the Niche report where in excess of 500 urology pts were found to have suffered harm or died, these are the patients that Peter Duffy whistleblew about
. David was unable to work as a self employed gardener for six months whilst he recovered from his ordeal, and suffers from post traumatic stress as a result.
After the Trust apologised for their failings David hoped some compensation would be forthcoming for his trauma and loss of earnings but has found himself up against the legal brick wall of Hill Dickinson Solicitors.
He needs to pay for expert witnesses and a barrister in order to take his case forward, he has had to take out a loan so far; he was only asking for a very reasonable sum of £20,000 to compensate for his employment losses in the first place so place him in this situation is cruel and Machiavellian.
I don’t feel the NHS should be able to treat patients like this especially after they have already caused him so much harm both physically and mentally. If you agree please help David with a donation, however small, which will go to him to help him with his fees and allow him to continue with his claim.
Thank you
