I have benefited first-hand from the physical and social/emotional healing made possible by the focused practices of yoga. The profound effects of this practice have led to my own personal growth and transformation dealing with the regulars of life's offerings, and then some: loss/grief, stress/fear, happiness/joy.
I started out my teaching career working with folks in recovery, with no concept of how the practice of Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra could benefit them. And while I have contemplated the truth of my not knowing enough then, with my knowing a little more now, I keep coming back to a real desire to serve students in more meaningful ways than I do now.
Not just the pandemic, but suffering the chronic stress and loss of a family member with severe mental illness, and becoming a single parent have all pushed me to consider what it would look like to support others' suffering from chronic stress and fatigue - states that live just under the surface of our daily existence.
I am not only interested in the work of building a strong container of the body, but also in developing ways to strengthen the inner landscape for myself and my students.
Funding for teacher training opportunities is not something I have ever asked for, but with the strain of yoga teaching in these uncertain times and all on Zoom, well, I would be honored and thrilled if you might consider supporting me in taking Richard Miller's iRest Yoga Nidra Level 1 Teacher Training. I can assure you, that these skills will show up on the mat near you as another way to connect us to each other, and ultimately, help you connect deeper to yourself.
Thank you!
