As many of you know, I’m living with stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to other parts of my body, including my liver.
I’ve been through a lot of treatment already, and I’m incredibly grateful for every bit of care I’ve received. But I’m now looking at another option: TACE (Transarterial Chemoembolisation), a treatment that targets tumours in the liver much more directly.
TACE works by delivering chemotherapy straight to the blood vessels supplying the liver tumours, while also reducing their blood supply. My hope is that this treatment could help get better control of the cancer in my liver and give me more precious time doing the things that matter to me.
Unfortunately, accessing this treatment privately comes at a significant cost, which is why I’m doing something I never imagined I’d have to do — asking for help.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m usually the one organising, working, helping other people and just getting on with things. Asking for money doesn’t come naturally to me at all. But cancer has a horrible way of taking choices away from you, and if there is a treatment available that may help me, I want to give myself the opportunity to try it.
The money raised will go towards the cost of the TACE treatment and the associated private medical care.
Please don’t feel under any pressure to donate. Sharing this page is just as valuable and could help it reach somebody who can.
I still have far too much living to do, a family I adore, a business I love and plenty of people I intend to annoy for many years yet.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating and, most of all, for being behind me through all of this.
