More than a dog. #BringReggieHome

On the morning of May 13, 2019 my 1.5 year old bluetick/walker coonhound, Reggie was struck by a vehicle and left in the ditch. Luckily, my neighbour found him and located me on my hunt. He was terrified and in terrible pain. Reg wouldn't let me look at his wounds or pick him up. Eventually I managed to wrap him in a blanket and after multiple attempts of trying to lift him, I managed to get him in the backseat of my car. I jumped in with him to make sure he knew he wasn't alone anymore. While my cousin looked up the closest vet, my aunt drove us there. Thank you to both of you. We went to Charlottetown Veterinary where they took X-RAYS and assessed his injuries. The results included a broken pelvis and dislocated hip. Due to the extent of Reggie's injuries, he was transferred to University of PEI - Atlantic Veterinary Clinic to be assessed for the necessary surgeries.. there they discovered his bladder is ruptured but repairable. Unfortunately, these injuries come with a now 8000$ price tag just to operate.. but anyone who has had our kind of love and bond can understand that the thought of putting my best friend down when he could have a full recovery was not an option. I can't put a price on his life but I desperately need help to save it.
