You can help spread Simcha Based Learning combining Torah and Montessori to children all over Israel. This will allow parents to help nuture their child's curiosity and keep the love of learning alive in the hearts of their children.
I love teaching. Nine years ago I began my teaching journey back in Cincinnati Ohio running an in home toddler program. After discovering Montessori education, I fell in love with its methods and materials. Slowly over the years I began to introduce these principals into my toddler program and witnessed first hand the magic of the Montessori educational process. Three years ago my family and I made aliyah to Pardes Chana Israel. After continuing to run my toddler program for two more years, I realized that there was a tremendous need for Montessori education for older children in Israel. I decided to close my toddler program, and continue my research for teaching older children via montessori principals. This past year I opened up a classroom for ages 3-6 years old as a afternoon Montessori enrichment workshop. Combined with my Simcha Based Learning program, I am now teaching these children how to read English, gain confidence in mathematics, and master practical life skills. The program was a tremendous success!
There is so much more to learn and only so far one can go educating oneself. The program that is being offered by Lamplighters, is a Jewish intergrative Montessori training in conjunction with The Center for Guided Montessori Studies (CGMS). Earning this certification will also provide me with specific skills I can further develop, and share with other teachers here in Israel. I plan to create courses to teach teachers and homschoolers the Montessori philosophy, creating more Simcha Based Learning teachers around the country.
Imagine your child thriving in an afternoon enrichment program gaining comprehension and developing mastery in subjects that were difficult for him to learn. I plan to create these programs all over the country. From math to language, these programs will use Montessori materials with teachers who are trained in matching your child's emotional development and skill-set to help them become life-long learners who are curious and engadged fully with the materials. You can help make these programs happen all over Israel.
