Hello! My name is Tricia, Mops the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's mom. On Sunday morning, we were at the Perth Drive trailhead in Squamish when Mops ingested a large about of marijuana that had been thrown into the woods next to the trailhead.

Over the next 12 hours, his condition deteriorated, and when he became unresponsive he was rushed to the emergency vet in Vancouver as there are no emergency vet clinics in Squamish. Mops is currently in the ICU on antibiotics, although expected to make a recovery.

The costs incurred by this incident, including vet bills, a multi-day hospital stay, and travel costs of driving the Sea to Sky multiple times have put significant financial stress on Mops' owner. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.

I would also appreciate sharing with others who spend time with their dogs on Squamish trails- let's help fellow dog owners be aware of this potential issue and keep our furry friends safe!
