Moonpie is our bratty, loving, 2 year old rescue pit mix. Three weeks ago on her nightly potty walk she started limping heavily. We took her in the very next day and Moonpie's vet recommended we keep her on strict bed rest to see if she would recover. After two weeks of bedrest and another trip to a different vet for a second opinion it was confirmed that our beloved baby has torn her ACL and will need TPLO surgery as soon as possible. It was recommended that Moonpie get her surgery from a specialist instead of a general veterinarian in order to achieve the best possible results. Moonpie has a consultation at Sam's Clinic in Mill Valley and will be booking her surgery as soon as possible. We can't wait to get Moonpie on the road to recovery. We love Moonpie unconditionally and want to give her the adventure filled life she deserves. Surgery will be between 7,000 and 8,000 dollars. We also hope to be able to give her the best rehabilitation possible since 50% of dogs tear the other ACL after tearing the first. We have already spent $300 dollars for her pain medications, a harness to assist her with going potty and medication to help with sedation while she is crate bound. Her consultation will cost $700 dollars of right now money is tight and we cannot afford the full amount for the surgery. Any amount you choose to donate will be greatly appreciated! Moonpie is my best friend, my baby and above all my entire world. The Alvarado Family will forever be thankful for your love and support of our magical bratty baby cow Moonpie.
