Hi, Lorell here, artist & owner of Moonbird Studio.
The ever-increasing generation of AI imagery is working to undermine and minimise human creativity while it gobbles precious resources and causes significant damage to the environment. A new exhibition of 3-dimensional works attempts to redress this imbalance by showcasing artwork that is created using recycled and 'cast-off' materials in tangible form made by human hands. The artwork itself explores an imagined future where resources are grossly depleted, and new 'engineered creatures' emerge out of necessity.
Your support will help to launch this new exhibition of mixed media sculptures, titled 'Biomech Fictions'. All donations great and small will help to provide the resources required to plan, create and execute this unique exhibition.
This will include:
- The creation of new work, your donation will help fund the new resources and materials required
- Securing a venue to host the exhibition, including funding to rent the space, opening night costs, and display costs
- Creating an exhibition catalogue containing the artwork and tips and strategies for using recycled materials to create art, eg. where to find supplies, how to store items, how to prepare materials, etc. Your donation will help fund the printing and distribution of this catalogue.
