Moon Transplant Journey

Hello friends my name is Mel Vavrek and I've been asked by many friends what they can do to help out with the Moon transplant journey that will be taking place this week. I felt that this was the easiest way to go about it for those who are interested and would like to help out on Derrick and Dena's transplant journey. Derrick was born in 1985 with renal failure, his first transplant was at the age of 12 when his Mother Donna Patrick donated a kidney to her son. Unfortunately the kidney transplant failed and 7 years later Derrick had to go back onto dialysis, a treatment he has been receiving since 2002. This week his wife Dena will fly to Toronto and will be donating a kidney through the Living Donor Paired Kidney Exchange program and Derrick will in turn receive a kidney in Edmonton AB.
Derrick and Dena met the new love of their life Oliver Grant Moon whom they adopted this fall, he will be in the care of family and friends while Dena recovers and joins Derrick in Edmonton where the new parents will be living away from their home in Grande Prairie for the next 6 to 12 weeks while Derrick recovers from his transplant surgery. It's been the most amazing year for this family and for those who would like to help with expenses along the way as they begin their journey to a healthy family will be much appreciated.
