Moon’s Emergency Vet Bills
My little Moon here needs some help! Yesterday (September 8, 2020) she was admitted to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Overland Park for extreme anemia. Her PCV levels were dangerously low at just 15%! Originally, the vets suspected she had immune mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) which would have been a death sentence. She got a blood transfusion late last night which helped her PCV elevate to 22%!
As of 10:00am, the vets have ruled out IMHA! However, we still do not have answers as to what caused her anemia. It could be a GI bleed, regenerative anemia, an infection, or something else. We just don’t know. The vets are running test after test to try to narrow down what could have caused this
We have already spent about $2500 on vet bills and if she has to stay tomorrow, we’re looking at another $1200-1800 depending on what she needs.
Moon is only 2 years old and has a lot of life left to live and I want to give her every fighting chance I can to allow her to thrive and see old age. Please donate what you can. Every penny truly helps!
