Mookie's Promise

On Oct 6th, 2023 we received the tragic news that my otherwise healthy 2-year-old pup, Mookie, has lymphoma. One of the most aggressive cancers in dogs. We caught it within a couple of weeks, but it didn’t matter. The cancer is in him and spreading quickly as it can multiply in just 24 hours. His current treatments run anywhere between $500 - $1,400 per week – our goal is to raise enough for 1 month’s treatment, this helps the entire Mookie family save for the near future.

Mookie’s family have vowed to keep him here as long as we can. Because not fighting for this gentle soul would not be fair to him. However, that comes at a cost. Which is why we are asking for your help. Please if there’s anything you can give, Mookie would greatly appreciate it. But if you can’t give, please share our page.

A little bit about Mookie…

For 888 days until this horrible day, he has lived a fun and full life.

He’s the type of the dog that will stop and smell every flower.

He will try to greet every human he sees.

He licks your shins when you're cooking.

He still has the same toys from when he was a puppy, because it’s not in his nature to destroy anything.

He touches every single dog and person he meets.

He makes eye contact when he meets anyone, as to say that he means no harm.

He wants to know you and he wants you to know him.

He’s my boy, he’s my baby. I’ve had him with me since he was 7 ½ weeks old. I’m his mom.

We don’t know how long we have with him, but anything we don’t get to use, we promise to donate it to another dog that’s fighting a similar fight. Any medication that goes unused, we will donate. We will only keep Mookie as long as he doesn’t show that he’s in pain. We will fill every day he has left with joy. When the time comes to help him cross the rainbow bridge, we will all be there to hold his paw. These are all promises we make to Mookie.
