Mookie Needs Us to Be His Angels!

Hello! This is our pup Mookie, a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix, with a bit of monkey, a touch of Wookiee, a sprinkle of Ewok, a healthy helping of bear, and delicious dose of fluffy little boy thrown in for good measure. In just a few short weeks, it'll be 10 years since Mookie's been with us (yet he's still a pup, somehow. Amazing how that works!) All his life, he's suffered through all sorts of allergies and ear infections. Being allergic to all sorts of goodies has prevented the poor baby from chowing down on so many foods he'd love to devour (because he's a dog and that's what they do!); we soldier through frequent ear infections, but last year was tough, as we were forced to get custom medication straight from the lab (aka $$$) to fight off some stubborn ear goo that was resistant to the usual standard meds. We've been as prepared as we can for the poor sweet baby, though, and he's never been anything but a superstar through the itching and discomfort.

Unfortunately, our little baby bear has developed some internal lumps and bumps that we need to look at to make sure he's okay, and/or to see if we're in for a bigger fight. We've got some expensive imaging and a surgical procedure happening the week of this writing, with potentially more to come. Up 'til now, we've been so fortunate to be able to stay on top of all his issues, but this latest setback really has us in a tough spot. We of course are willing to do whatever we have to do to keep our baby healthy. Sadly, we may need some help to do it.

Every cent generated from this endeavor will go right to taking care of Mookie's medical bills. This week's procedures alone are comfortably (well, UNcomfortably for us....) into 4 figures. Any amount, no matter how small, will help us focus on taking care of the pup and keep worries away from the stressful issue of covering costs. Believe me, I am not a fan of asking for this assistance, but looking at Mookie's little face makes swallowing my pride a no-brainer.

As a bonus, we guarantee any contributors a pass for an in-person visit** (**travel and lodging at your expense :P) or Google Hangouts video chat with Mookie once he's back to his healthy, silly self :)

If you've known Mookie's mommy or daddy at all over the past nearly 10 years, then you know how much he means to us. If you've been lucky enough to meet Mookie himself, we have a pretty good idea of what he means to you. Mookie has been a perfect, wonderful, noble yet super silly little wingman in some good times, and a brilliant, shining ray of light through some bad. Some of you have heard us refer to him as "our little angel," and those of you who've spent time with him get that description completely. He's meant so much to so many, and I'm hoping we can all at least spread the word and try to be angels for him this time.

If you cannot contribute, we understand; though if you would consider sharing these efforts with anyone who might see his little face and would like to throw a few dollars his way, we'd be forever grateful. Thank you for reading. We look forward to sharing Mookie's happy, healthy face with you as soon as possible!
