Hi I’m Beth and my cat Azkaban (better known as Moo Man) was diagnosed with FLUTD in 2023. He had his first urinary blockage, with crystals in his urine and was fine for years with no repeat. Unfortunately this past July 1st, he blocked again and has had 2 more in the last 24 hours. This is a life threatening situation for male cats. He is currently in the hospital for 2 nights receiving care but the normal unblocking procedure isn’t enough anymore.

Because this is his 3rd block in one month, the doctors are recommending he undergo a Perineal Urethrostomy surgery to hopefully stop this issue from happening altogether. It comes with risks and it’s something we’ve avoided for years, hoping he’d just adjust and be okay after his first incident in 2023. However, it is now in his best interest to receive this care :(

If you know me, you know my boys, Moo & his brother Chev, and how crucial they are to my life and soul. Moo man means everything to me and I just want him to continue living his silly goofy life as the best little cow there is. He’s turning 5 next month and has such a long life ahead of him and I just want to be able to give him that in the best way possible. If he continues to block, this could be fatal. Each block is considered a life threatening emergency so if this surgery could help, I’ll do everything to make it happen.

The total cost I’ve spent just in the last month for his care is $5,562. The surgery itself is estimated to be an additional $4-5,000. I’m setting my goal to cover expenses so I can continue to provide for him the best I can. I’m happy to attach all of the bills, estimates, and payments I’ve already made. I also plan to update as things unfold.
