Hi everyone!

I’m Caitlin, proud human to Monty and Swiss. This October 29 — Monty’s Sweet 16 and National Cat Day — I’m celebrating my senior bow tie-wearing kitty by giving back to a cause close to our hearts.

Last year, after Monty was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), I threw him a Diamond Jubilee birthday fundraiser (see main photo above). Thanks to our amazing friends and family, Monty raised over $2,300 in supplies and gift cards for our local cat shelter, The Cat Connection.

This year has been more challenging for Monty health-wise, but he’s still going strong. Instead of a party, I’ve set up a GoFundMe with a goal of $1,600 in honor of his 16th birthday. Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping cats in need: providing food, litter, medical care, and more.

The Cat Connection

The Cat Connection is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit no-kill organization whose primary mission is to rescue abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted, and injured cats, and to facilitate their adoption into responsible permanent homes. The second part of our mission is to control the feral cat population through our Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain (TNRM) program, and trapping and socialization of feral kittens. To reduce cat abandonment, surrender, and unwanted breeding by pets, we support low-income families through spay/neuter assistance, financial assistance for acute vet care, food, and supplies. We serve Greater Boston and surrounding communities in Massachusetts.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most.
