In lieu of flowers for Charlotte's memorial, please consider contributing to fulfill Monty's wish.
For over ten years, Monty has cared for his wife, Charlotte, who suffered from both Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis. She died while holding his hand on May 27. He has never complained about serving, lifting, feeding, or sleepless nights as she struggled in pain. However, he has often mentioned his desire to return to England, where he served his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the early 1960s. He and Charlotte would often look at pictures and locations and discuss the trip he would someday take.
Monty turned 85 in April and has been diagnosed with dementia, so he needs to go soon while he can enjoy the trip.
After years of caring for Charlotte, all of his resources are gone. His family would love to fulfill this dream. However, they have been helping to supplement the long-term care and medical costs, and do not have the finances to send him to England.
Since he has dementia, they would like to send him on a direct flight in a comfortable seat with legroom. Since he cannot walk far, there will be additional transportation expenses in England.
Many people have been asking what they can do. If you are willing, please consider helping Monty have his dream trip.
