On Sunday Feb 5th, my parents were on their way home from their sunday ride on my dads motorcycle when they were struck by another vehicle on highway 101. Both of them sustained serious injuries that included multiple broken bones in many places of their bodies including a head injury. My dad was airlifted to Santa Barbara while my mom was taken to the hospital in Santa Maria. My dad is 2 hours from our house and my mom is about an hour away. This makes traveling to see them quite the task for our family. Due to their critical conditions and long road to recovery, my dad will be out of work for quite some time while he recovers and rebuilds his strength enough to go back to work. We are asking for help to get them through these next several months while they take on this long journey to recovery. 100 % of these funds will go to rent and bills as well as day to day needs for the kids.

From Family: Since Melanie has taken on a lot to help manage the ongoing medical care of her parents and the well-being of her younger siblings, we ask that you please respect the privacy of her family during this time and that you please direct any questions regarding the status of Jeannie and Jr to Danny Speth Sr. (Grandpa) and Auntie Dede (Jeannie’s aunt).

We understand how loved Jeannie and Jr are and that people will want to visit with them. However, we ask that you please make sure to clear any visits/trips direclty with Melanie before you make the drive to visit them as they need as much rest and quiet time as possible this early on in their recovery.
