Hi, My Name is Victor, and I never thought I would do something like this. To try to keep it short, I was officially diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2014 when they had to remove a small part of my small intestine. But I have struggled with this condition since I was a lot younger but it became a lot stronger during my military years in the Air Force ; doctors could not figure out what I had before 2014. Since then, I have kept symptoms at bay until June this year. One day at work, I began to have intense flare-ups, including fever and sharp abdominal pain. As soon as I went to the E.R., I was hospitalized for the first time as they found an abscess in my intestines. It wasn't until the second hospitalization that they also found small perforations along my intestine and proceeded to surgically put in a surgical drain going into my abscess(fistula) in my small intestine to drain any liquid from the abscess (fistula) that could potentially cause me harm and even sepsis. I have been off work since June. I was recently told I needed surgery , to remove the affected area in my intestines, and would be out for another 2 to 3 months to fully recover. Initially, I was expected to go back to work on November 15th. Originally surgery was to take place on the 17th of this month (Nov.), but since I tested positive for covid recently, it did not meet the 10-day requirement after testing positive. Hence, surgery still is to be determined. I am doing this because I only receive 60% of my paycheck for short-term disability payments and have used up all the PTO I had left. We are struggling to keep up with the bills, especially the rent( will be facing eviction soon), as my PTO ended about a month and a half ago, and my wife also took time off without her having paid time off every time I was hospitalized. And I thought I would be able to be back to work on Nov. 15th. Also, during my surgery, my wife will take off to take care of our daughters (We have two daughters) and me as well as I recover from the surgery. This is my first time doing this, so I apologize for any typos or for the long explanation. Please donate if you can; every little bit helps.
