Hello all. I feel terrible to be doing this, but I am without options at this point. So here we go. On April 29th, I was driving a company car while on company time. While in the crossover lane on I-75, the traffic was coming to a stop due to construction, and I was rear-ended by the two cars behind me. This accident caused a lot of pain and damage. When I mentioned workers' compensation to my employer because I was unable to do my job, they fired me.
I have been dealing with severe pain in my neck, back, and right arm. Come to find out with an MRI that the C5-6 disc was compressing my nerve. This is why I have no feeling in my right arm as well as my fingers. I have been unable to work since the accident. I have been denied unemployment because I cannot work. To be approved for disability can take up to 8 months. I have almost gone through all my savings. I do have lawyers that are handling the workers' compensation claim and the personal injury due to the accident, but it will take some time before I see any money from that.
On the 26th, I had ACDF surgery. They removed the disc that was compressing the nerve, put in an artificial disc, and then fused them together. So I am not really able to do much work. We will know in 6 months if the surgery was a success.
Right now, I am not getting any assistance or anything to help. So I am hoping that there are people out there that are willing to help me during this time. I hate asking for help, but I do not know what else to do. I have never been in this position before.
Come March, I do have a job that is waiting for me. If i am able to work by then . And I should have my workers' compensation settlement by then. I just need some help to pay my monthly bills and get groceries until then.
I sincerely appreciate any and all help that is given.
