Monthly Dues and Financial Hardship
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Anthony Pavone. It feels weird to write my pity story here, and I feel so ashamed asking for help but here it goes. I've been out of work for a while now, depleting my entire savings and trying to make it month to month. I've had about ten hospital visits since May after being diagnosed with a new condition. I've been diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a liver disease, and a worsening of my Ulcerative Colitis. The bile ducts in my liver keep getting infected and sending me back to the hospital with Sepsis and/or Bacteremia. Neither disease has a cure, but the PSC is immediately life-threatening.
All in all, I will need a liver transplant, and without it, I will die. I, unfortunately, do not score high on the Meld Score Chart, so it will take a long time to find a deceased donor. My best shot at staying alive is to find a living donor, friend or family that will donate up to half of their liver to me (and they grow back!). But that is for another story here.
In the interim, I am absolutely drained of funds, and while I'm getting as much assistance as I can qualify for through both SNAP benefits and Mortgage assistance, my utilities still need to be covered. Honestly, I am behind because I didn't want to reach out for too much help. A few lovely family members and friends have helped and for that, I am ever appreciative, but I do ashamedly need more assistance. I hope to get back on my feet after this (hopefully soon) transplant and return the kindness shown to me.
