Hello, my name is Joe, and I'm reaching out for support to help me catch up on my bills. I've been working as a performer since 1991, primarily during nights and weekends, and this gig typically slows down during the summer. In addition to my performing work, I've been juggling a part-time retail job, but due to the slow season, I've only been able to average 8-15 hours a week since the end of May.
For 600 days of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which I couldn't perform, coupled with some significant unexpected home repairs, have significantly depleted my savings. As a result, I find myself falling further and further behind on my bills. I've been actively searching for a full-time Monday-to-Friday job since April to prevent this situation, but despite numerous job applications, I haven't been able to secure one yet.
I've also encountered challenges with the unemployment system, which was hacked, resulting in a halt in my unemployment payments since June as they reverify my identity. Consequently, I'm now behind on my car payments, struggling to keep up with my electricity bill, and have had to make adjustments like switching to Mint Mobile for cell service and cutting my cable subscription. On top of this, my car insurance has expired, preventing me from renewing my registration.
The amount I'm seeking in assistance with will enable me to catch up on my car payments, cover my electricity bill, reinstate my car insurance and registration, and provide a financial cushion should I continue to face challenges finding a full-time job. I appreciate any help you can provide during this challenging time. Thank you.
