Monthly bills after RV wreck

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Eve Seward, and a couple of months ago we drove 30 hours out to Virginia and bought a sailboat. The sailboat was cheap and needed a lot of work, but to our family, it was the beginning of a new life that we were very excited for. It was a live-aboard boat on the coast of Virginia, and we were excited to pack up our kids and dogs and start work on our boat.

So, on June 17th, we packed all of our belongings, all of the food and cleaning products in our house, our dogs, and our 3 kids into our 1988 Winnebago RV and set out for Virginia, for an extended stay. The next day, on Father's Day, we made it to about 45 mins outside of Kennebec, SD, when my husband had a medical event and fainted behind the wheel of the RV. We were in a construction zone, so we went into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit a truck pulling a large camper, almost head-on.

My husband was thrown out of the RV and received grievous injuries. His left leg had to be amputated above the knee, he had to have reconstruction surgery on his face for broken orbital and cheek bones, and he can no longer lift his left arm. He has been in a Sioux Falls hospital since June 18th and is currently still there.

My kids and I have since returned to Billings, where we live, and have started to get our house ready for a wheelchair. We have been pulling up all the carpet and tac board. I have not worked since June 11th, and while I had some money, it was quickly used up. I am starting a new job on July 31st, but will not have a paycheck till Aug. 15th, and that will only be for one day's work.

I am asking for help with monthly bills, food, pet food, gas for my car and help with the house payment and utilities for a month or 2 until I can get back on my feet. The RV was totaled and just exploded with a couple of gaping holes in it. By the time I could get back to the RV to retrieve some possessions, it had rained a couple of times and a lot of stuff was ruined. We also did not have enough room in the car to grab everything. Since we were going to Virginia for an extended stay, we had most of what was important to us in the RV. I was not able to save any of the food, or household cleaners. All our tools were in the cubbies that are under the RV, and when we crashed, the cubby doors flew open and all our tools flew out. We were unable to salvage any of them. Bills have started to come in, and before my husband comes home, we must get a wheelchair ramp so he can get into the house.

Thankfully, me and the 3 kids only got bruises and lots of scrapes in the accident. I thank the Lord every day, that all of us survived and that my kids did not have any serious injuries. That was truly a miracle. Unfortunately, we do not have any medical insurance.
Also, both dogs were fine as well. One was found still in the RV, by the police and the other older dog ran off. It took about 4 days, but a very kind man in Persho, SD, diligently looked for him and even used an airplane to scare him out of the brush and run him down so he could be captured. This was an exciting and happy event for our whole family, after a traumatic accident. I will never forget his kindness and tenacity in catching our old, scared, house dog.

Anything anyone can donate would be greatly appreciated at this time. God bless you in advance. And thank you for reading my story.
