What we are raising funds for
We are BERNVOCAL, Bern’s professional vocal ensemble for early music.
This year we celebrate our 10th anniversary with a very special concert project: Monteverdi’s monumental Marian Vespers, one of the most important works in the history of music and in a way the synthesis of all our projects from the past decade.

About us
BERNVOCAL is Bern’s professional vocal ensemble for early music. It was founded in 2013 by its artistic director Fritz Krämer . Among its members are internationally renowned soloists such as Hana Blažíková, Peter Kooij, María Cristina Kiehr, Kai Wessel, Miriam Feuersinger , Dominik Wörner and Marie Lys. The ensemble works with Maurice Steger, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Enrico Onofri, Camerata Bern, Sebastian Wienand, Václav Luks, Freitagsakademie, Vital Julian Frey and Les Passions de l’Ame , among others.

Since its debut with Continuo Anthems by Purcell, the ensemble has dedicated itself to the music of Monteverdi, Gesualdo, Heinrich Schütz, Johann Hermann Schein, George Frideric Handel and J.S. Bach, but also to newly published works, for example by Biagio Marini.
In 2021 the debut CD Stagioni d’Amore with the soprano Hana Blažíková was released.
The ensemble BERNVOCAL is under the patronage of Simonetta Sommaruga, former President of the Swiss Confederation.
How the funds will be used
A project of this magnitude cannot be financed by fees and subsidies alone. Therefore, we are happy to receive support of any kind that helps to cover the costs of artists’ fees and expenses, rent and tuning of instruments, as well as organization and administration.
