Monté Farmer in his Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Michael Farmer and I am fundraising for my youngest son Monté Farmer, who was diagnosed in June 2022 with Stage 4 Terminal Cancer. I have had custody of Monté since he was 18 months old, and I continue to take care of him alone as a single father.
Monté was hospitalized on June 24, 2022 and was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Round Cell Tumor, which is a very rare and agressive form of cancer. It's so rare that there have been less than 200 cases on record in the United States and there is "NO CURE". If Monté were to make it through this, he would have to take chemo for the rest of his life. And as of today, he has received more than 20 doses of the highest level of chemotherapy which leaves him extremely ill but he continues to fight! Unfortunately, this kind of cancer does not respond to chemo as with normal cancers, but it has stopped it from growing and for that I am grateful, however Doctors have advised us that the chemotherapy will eventually stop working and radiation is not an option due to the damage it will cause at such a high dose.
Against all odds Monté was able to come home on October 12, 2022 and I am his full-time caregiver. There are Drs. appts that I have to take him to weekly and he receives his meals through a feeding tube. Because he is underage, I have to be home when the nurses and his teachers come. Despite his prognosis I do my best to offer him as normal a life as possible while attempting to run my business to the best of my ability.
As of date, The Make A Wish Foundation has accepted our application for a final wish. However, there are other places Monté would like to visit with his loved ones while we still have time to do so, which is the purpose of this Fundraiser. Anything donated will go towards Monté's wishes and the journey will be documented on social media.
Thank you all in advance, may anything you've contributed be returned to you tenfold!
