Mont Blanc Challenge 2022

Tour du Mont-Blanc Cyclo  - ‘Everest In A Day’ Cycling Challenge

16th July 2022 – Help the River Reeves Foundation raise £50,000

The Tour du Mont-Blanc (TMB) Cyclo is a benchmark among ultra-cycling events. It is a  330km sportive that sees riders climb over 8000m, the height of Everest, and pass through three countries across the "roof of Europe"…all in the same day! It is undoubtedly the ultimate one-day sportive challenge.

Riv’s Riders Ride Again - 2022

In 2016, following the death of River Reeves and his Viola Beach bandmates in Sweden, River’s family and close friends came together as Riv’s Riders. They cycled from Penzance to Warrington, raising £15,000 in the process and launching the Foundation's  bursary programme. Working closely with schools and colleges, the Foundation’s bursaries help support disadvantaged young people across the North West realise their musical, performing and visual arts dreams.

In 2022, River's Dad, Ben Dunne and 5 close friends, Neil Rigby, Paul Jefferson, Sam Middleton, Chris Loxley and Dave Wooster  will be taking on this mammoth challenge!

Riv's Riders have £50,000 as a target to expand our bursary programme and further support talented young musicians, artists and performers across Warrington, like River, who might be struggling to realise their own artistic dreams due to disadvantage, circumstance or lack of opportunity.

The River Reeves Foundation has the ambition to signpost and support children and young people anywhere on their artistic journey from primary school, secondary school, 6th form college or a local community group, all the way up to some of the most exciting Higher Education institutions in the country including The Royal Northern College of Music, The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), UCEN Manchester (Arden School of Theatre)  and BIMM Manchester.

River achieved so much in his short, beautiful life and the Riv's Riders Team are determined to turn tragedy into triumph, so that our memories of his lovely smile, humour and easy charm can be channelled into helping young people with the artistic passion River had.

How can you help?

Riv’s Riders are looking for as much sponsorship support as we can get to help us reach our target of £50,000.

Thank you for helping us create alternate futures in celebration of River's wonderful life x
