Following the devastating downtown Monroe fire on May 14, many businesses and apartments were destroyed, leaving members of our community displaced and facing immediate needs. As of now, we know of 4 residents that this fund will help. Because I have as business on the square, I feel it is the right thing to help out these residents who live, work and live on the square. We see some of them every day.

This fund has been created to help those affected with essential expenses such as food, clothing, and replacing basic household items needed for daily life. While the Red Cross has generously provided initial assistance, many residents will need additional financial support as they begin to rebuild.

All funds raised will be distributed equally among those displaced. (Initials of the Residents who will receive funds are: HM, ME, JE, MD) We will write checks directly to them from this fund - they are our neighbors and friends as well as yours.
