Monitoring fund 21-22 season
As a group of volunteers we rely solely on donations from friends, family and supporters to help us cover costs during the season’s
monitoring. The biggest expense being diesel, sometimes in excess of 100 miles are covered on a day
monitoring a hunt.
Last season we produced a
detailed report working with Hounds Off on stag hunting on the Quantock hills, and with evidence we gathered we were able to bring two hunts before the courts, both charged with illegal hunting. In addition we have given evidence to police and are in the process of assisting criminal proceedings against hunt supporters for assault against our monitors and criminal damage. Every bit helps bring into the spotlight the continued illegal persecution of wildlife. Our monitors are out at least twice a week throughout the hunting season, stag hunting in particular is an exceptionally long season to cover, and very challenging. The work we do is in addition to our main employment and we aren’t paid or financially subsidised by any other organisation For our monitoring role. We are volunteers, with your help we can continue to help protect hunted animals.
