On the night of Mother’s Day — May 11, 2025, my cousin Monique was the victim of a horrific and unprovoked attack at her apartment in Raleigh, NC.
While preparing to shower and settle in for the night, Monique was suddenly shot four times through her front door by a man who had already attacked and robbed someone else that same night.

Her Injuries & Current Condition
One of the bullets severely injured Monique’s left hand, which now requires multiple surgeries and a long road to recovery. The other three shots — by what can only be called a miracle — missed her vital organs.
She is currently hospitalized and undergoing treatment.
Major Expenses.
Until she recovers from her injuries she cannot return to work for the foreseeable future. In addition to her medical expenses, she now must find a new place to live, as returning to her apartment is not safe — physically or emotionally.
