Support Monika Kinner with her Brain Injury Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Erin Mitchell. I am fundraising to help my friend Monika Kinner.
On January 14th, 2025, Monika Kinner suffered a traumatic brain injury (whiplash, concussion). She now lives with speech impairment, fine motor tremor in her dominant hand, severe auditory trauma response, and visual/light sensitivity, tremors and Dysautonomia. This has impacted her ability to complete the scope of work required to maintain basic financial self support.
The purpose of this Go Fund Me is to recover financial loss and to provide basic living support for the following months to enable Monika to access necessary recovery and therapies.
Monika Kinner has worked as a professional artist for 16 years, passionate about the prairie, specializing in Textile Art and Storytelling. She has been juried with the Saskatchewan Craft Council since 2010. Monika has made her living exhibiting, selling, lecturing, and teaching.
You may know Monika through her work with Saskatoon Open Door Society, Remai Modern Art Gallery, Creative House, the Saskatchewan Craft Council, Handmade House, Children's Discovery Museum, or her advocacy for the Meewasin.
Monika has delivered children’s creative workshops in schools, teaches Creative Textile Art classes across western Canada, and lectures for guilds internationally on zoom.
Because independent artists lack financial safety nets, any contribution you are able to make is appreciated in this time of immediate need. Thank you so very much.
