On Sunday the 15th of February Monika tragically passed away from an Aortic Dissection.

Two days earlier she and her husband Jack welcomed their new baby girl Franziska into the world.

Monika and Jack had married two months earlier on December the 12th 2025. They had been together for eight years after meeting in Salzburg, Austria. They were so looking forward to the arrival of Franziska and beginning their family together. Monika especially was incredibly excited to become a mother.

Known for her bubbly personality, Monika had an infectious smile and laugh. Her passing leaves a massive hole in the lives of so many.

With this incredibly tragic and unexpected event, there is now a lot of uncertainty for Jack and Franziska. Monika is from Austria and needs to be repatriated. Jack is from New Zealand and is planning a possible move back to New Zealand.
