Monii's Mission

Monica Rubio, whose name means “Truth,” was the true definition of beauty and perfection. March 3, 2022, at 2:13 pm, Monica's life was taken by someone who was supposed to protect her and love her, or so she thought. Unfortunately, So many women know this type of behavior all too well. The fairytale of sweet prince charming sweeping you off your feet just long enough to manipulate you into thinking that you can't live without them, that maybe you are to blame for how they are mistreating you. Your sense of self-worth is robbed from you to the extent that you begin to feel alone with no one to confide in, and you start to think that there's no way out.

According to nation broad statistics, around 4.5 million women have been threatened with a gun in the United States alone. Nearly 1 million women have been shot or shot at by an intimate partner. In addition, over half of all intimate partner homicides are committed with guns. The big picture at hand is that the ones left behind to suffer and pick up the pieces are the victim's family members and close friends. Like many other women, Monica left behind six little ones who will never know how their mom loved them.

So who is really to blame? Whether it be the fault of prince charming, the local law enforcement, our government or even the lack of information and assistance made available in our communities to these women when they feel they have nowhere to turn. Many organizations only provide temporary service for shelter when these women do find a way out or places like the women's advocacy center of Lubbock that come in only after the tragedy has already happened to help with funeral costs and expenses. What about all the long term expenses that come with raising the children of these unfortunate women that are left behind for years to come

Help us in the fight to enforce stricter gun laws and harsher punishment for domestic violence abusers for all the women, just like monii. Help us with Monii"s Mission any donations will go to pay for Monica's headstone as well as to her six children, Jordyn Robert (age 11), Ivan Drake (age 10), Fayth Alazey (age 8), Destiny Nevaeh (age 6), Landon Alexander Valdez (age 5), Kevin Rene Rubio (age 4) that were left behind.
