Hi, I’m Monica. About five years ago I was diagnosed with Pyoderma Gangrenosum, a rare and painful disease that looks similar to MRSA but is autoimmune. It’s put me in the hospital twice for extended amounts of time. For this recurrence, I’m on week 5 of bouncing between the hospital and care facilities, not being able to work, and fighting with insurance on approval for care.
Today I was suddenly informed I have to pay $600 weekly out of pocket to the facility I’m currently in. I’m still on IV antibiotics and require daily nursing care, so being here is a must for now.
Having been out of work for the entire time, I’ve almost exhausted my paid leave. My other avenues such as my TSP (retirement fund) are exhausted as well. This is well and truly a last resort.
I know times are difficult for everyone but if you have any room to lend a hand, any help would be so appreciated. Every little bit adds up and would help me make a dent in these sudden costs.
