Monica's Student Film, Feels like Home

Hi!! My name is Monica Di Pietro and I am the writer, and director of Feels like Home. Out of 16 other students in my cohort, only 5 films have been selected to move forward with production. I plan on using this Go Fund Me account to support the production of my film/ artistic vision, as well as all production expenses such as transportation, production design, location rentals, and craft services for my crew and actors.

Actions speak louder then words when it comes to showing someone you love them. In this silent film, a minimum income couple work together to pay their dues before they are evicted by the end of the week. Pia (the girlfriend) struggles to make enough money to do something special for Jason's birthday which is the day before eviction. She gets an advanced payment from her boss in the mean time, but all falls to pieces when the couple have a surprise visitor. Pia is forced to get creative, and a Walmart birthday cake found in the breakroom of her office job is just enough to get her wheels spinning.

This film is extremely important to me, as it is a huge opportunity to get a head start in the film industry. As some of you know i am currently in a 1 year intense program for film production. When i first enrolled in this program, i was questioning if the film industry was for me, as it is extremely competitive and a lot of hard work. Writing has always been a big passion of mine, specifically realism. Now that i have been approved to create this film, i am certain that i am the perfect person to tell this story. This story in particular strikes topics like financial struggle and the exhaustion of minimum wage households. But it also touches on the importance of trust within the people you are closest with during hard times.
