Monica’s fight against stage 4 cancer.

For anyone who does not know me, my name is Chiara and I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my best friend Monica.

Last August, Monica found a suspicious lump in her left breast. After a mammogram and biopsy she got the devastating news that she was being diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma.

From here, Monica started her fight against cancer. She underwent countless rounds of chemo, immunotherapy, and radiation. In May she also underwent a double mastectomy, and they removed a bunch of lymph nodes as well. After her surgery is when they began radiation, and she had to continue with oral chemo, as well as immunotherapy.

She has been only a few months into remission, and now her cancer returned, making her stage 4. This time around, it has unfortunately spread to her bones and her liver. She will now be traveling back and fourth to Philadelphia to Fox Chase cancer hospital to start more treatment.

Monica is a loving partner, and has two beautiful children, who are her entire world. She also has three loving sisters, her mom, dad, and nieces and nephew who all need her in their lives. She is the Godmother of my daughter, and truly is the most selfless, amazing person I know, and is honestly like a sister to me. She is the type of person regardless of everything she is currently going through, she would still jump out of bed at 2 o’clock in the morning to be there for you if you needed her.

She has a long road in front of her, and she should not have to worry about the financial burden of gas prices to travel to and from Philly, hotel stays, medications insurance may not cover, and not being able to work. We all need to come together and raise whatever we can to help Monica through this. Please donate anything you can, and if you are unable to donate, please share.
