My name is Monica, and I am currently facing one of the most challenging times of my life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and, just yesterday, underwent my third surgery in only eight weeks. The journey has been overwhelming, both physically and emotionally, and I am now facing at least another three to four weeks away from work as I focus on healing and recovery.
Unfortunately, my journey isn’t over yet. I will need a fourth (and hopefully final) surgery in February. I applied for an extension of my 2025 deductible through my health insurance company since it will be for the same diagnosis, but I found out on Friday that was denied. This means I will have to pay another deductible in February and will also need more time off work to recover. Being unable to work has made it difficult to keep up with medical bills and everyday living expenses. Shirley’s Way is an amazing organization and they were able to help me with some household bills for two months, but they have halted donations for the remainder of the year.
These donations will help with my medical deductible, prescriptions, and my end of December/early January bills, as well as the new deductible and time off work in February. The costs of treatment, medications, and regular bills are adding up quickly, and it’s been hard to manage everything on my own. I am reaching out for support so I can focus on getting better without the constant worry about finances.
I want to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes while I have been going through this. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to me. Any support you can offer—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing my story—will make a huge difference as I continue this fight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing by me during this difficult time.
