Monica's Fight Against Lymphoma

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

Monica McGhee (22); my fiancé was just diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma officially as of 12/14/2018. This came completely out of nowhere, and it's been a very devastating experience. Monica noticed that her cardiovascular ability drop drastically mid-summer, but we had no idea it was something like this. After getting bloodwork done during a regular health-checkup; the results turned up normal. Her PCP did notice that her thyroid looked swollen and recommended an ultrasound. The results from this ultrasound completely caught us off guard, and turned our lives upside down.

She has an extremely large tumor [18.5cm x 19.5cm x 12.5cm]extending upwards from her chest into her neck that is currently encasing her corroded artery and her jugular as well as pushing her esophagus and trachea to the side making breathing difficult. She has been doing well and staying strong throughout thanks to all of the overwhelming love and support from those around us.

She will be starting 6 months of chemo as of today (12/14/2018) and possible radiation treatment afterwards if there is anything lingering.

Monica is currently a student at SFCC working towards her bachelors degree taking courses in the Health & Fitness program, which will now have to be put on hold. She is the kindest, most loving person that I have ever known, and it breaks my heart to see her have to deal with this.

I have taken a leave of absence from work in the meantime, and I do not intend on leaving her side until I know that she is okay.  Our daughter Ava (5), has been staying with her Grandma Cheryl since we began our stay at Sacred Heart Medical Center; but we hope to be returning home soon so that we can all be together again.

We NEVER intended to ask for support this way, but we have exhausted most of our options at this point and we have nowhere left to turn. We are trying our best to prepare ourselves for impending medical bills, as well as our day to day bills such as rent / electricity / food / etc. I just don't know what else I can do at this point.

No contribution is too small, as every little bit helps. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
