Monica Lynch's fundraiser for a kidney transplant

Donation protected
Monica was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease around 2002. Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts develop primarily within your kidneys, causing your kidneys to enlarge and lose function over time. Cysts are noncancerous round sacs containing fluid. The cysts vary in size, and they can grow very large.

Her doctor told her that she would need a kidney transplant in about 20 years.  Since that time Monica has dealt with the disease with only a small group of people knowing.  Over the last year Monica has had approximately five surgeries. Of those were to prep her for peritoneal dialysis (PD), her left kidney was removed, and she started dialysis in July of 2020. This fundraiser is for medical expenses not covered by insurance, both for Monica and her donor.

Monica and her husband have travelled back and forth from Gardnerville, NV to San Francisco, CA over the last couple of years for medical check-ups.  Her kidney transplant will take place at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), in San Francisco, CA.

Monica and her husband Will would like to take this opportunity to thank anyone in advance who is choosing to graciously donate to this fund.
