Greetings, everyone. I'm Jenn Stockbridge, a close friend of Monica. As many of you are aware, Monica received a diagnosis of metastatic colon cancer in October 2021 and has been engaged in a courageous battle ever since. She's undergone an extensive regimen of 36 chemotherapy treatments, along with various other necessary procedures associated with cancer treatment. Throughout this challenging journey, Monica has tirelessly pursued every avenue to regain her health and reduce the size of her tumors, and it was showing promising results. However, in August 2023, her tumor markers began to rise, and her liver function became compromised. As a result, she had to undergo a procedure to insert biliary duct drains to alleviate her bilirubin levels. Initially, this was expected to be a routine outpatient procedure, but it has turned into an extended and arduous recovery, marked by multiple subsequent procedures. Monica subsequently developed an infection, requiring her to spend over two weeks in the hospital. During this time, she experienced extremely low blood pressure, significant lower extremity swelling, and substantial weakness. Her condition has left her predominantly bedridden, and she's currently unable to work. As soon as Monica regains some strength and her bilirubin levels stabilize, she will embark on a new round of chemotherapy. This phase of treatment will likely result in hair loss and make her feel less than her best. Many of you have expressed a desire to support Monica, and now is the opportunity to make a difference. Her monthly expenses for medication and supplements alone amount to approximately $3,000. Additionally, there may be future expenses for items like ice caps and wigs, estimated at around $2,000.  Your compassion and generosity can truly make a difference in Monica’s journey towards healing and recovery.
