One thing about my momma is that she’d never ever ask for a handout and has always hustled to make ends meet and figure out what needs to be done. However, she recently found out that she is over income for her income based apartment and had until April 14th to be moved out. She had been on the process of applying for apartments and packing when she caught the flu. Her health took a drastic downturn though. She ended up going septic, she had a pretty bad UTI, and her blood sugars were high. While in the hospital she ended up with pneumonia, and her labs, especially her potassium have still been abnormal. She hasn’t had the chance to find a place to move and hasn’t been able to work this whole time either. She is still in the hospital and I am doing the best I can to help find her a place to live, but I work the rest of the week and with only a few days left, I’ve run out of options. I came to the realization that in order to get her moved, we are going to have to throw away a lot of her things. I’m creating this fundraiser to help her financially when she gets out so that she can afford her bills, getting into a new place, and replace her household items that we won’t be able to keep. My mom may be too proud to ask for help, but I’m not. I don’t want her to struggle in silence while she is still in the hospital and needs to focus on her health.
